This exhibition will feature “Toshogu Miei” (portraits of the first Tokugawa shogun, Ieyasu) inherited by the Tokugawa head family. Visitors will also find traditional Hina dolls and accessories belonging to Tensho-in and Princess Kazu, wives to the 13th and 14th Tokugawa shoguns respectively. Combined with mid to late Edo period examples of delicate silverwork, miniature dolls, and other works, we take a closer look at how the Tokugawa clan celebrated the arrival of spring.
